AccessArt is taking on a new space – a studio space at Stapleford Granary to be used as an “AccessArt Lab”. This is an exciting new direction for AccessArt – and a big change for both myself and the organisation.
To be very honest, the shift in direction to working in a studio space, after 25 years of working from home, was impulsive. An opportunity presented itself, and we took it, though I do realize that the groundwork for this, the longing which feeds the impulsive response, has been brewing for a while.
Because it appeared to come out of the blue, lots of people are asking the same question:
What are you going to do in the space?
And I’ve been giving out my favourite response:
I don’t know yet.
When I first started giving that answer, I genuinely didn’t know yet, but as I kept saying it, I gradually realised that that was the whole point.
