Never Mind Flow; Bounce
Not the kind of learning that's encouraged, but the kind of learning that's enabling...
I’ve been thinking about two key factors which help us tune in to our creativity – curiosity and connectivity. I’ve also been thinking about flow.
Wikipedia describes flow as being “the mental state in which a person performing some activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity.”
But getting into a flow state isn’t just a case of turning up and tuning in, and actually, if you are in that grey space between desperately wanting to explore something creative, but feeling dragged back to life by to-do lists, you can’t just magic your way into a creative flow. Flow, to me, seems to be a state or place you can arrive at once you’ve found your thing, but what I’ve been thinking about a lot recently is how we might give ourselves the best chance to actually discover our thing. What can we do to create a space where the thing you will eventually want to achieve flow in, can reveal itself?
